福田 ゆり子 Yuriko Fukuda

Yuriko Fukuda is a Japanese pianist born in Takamatsu, Kagawa. After graduating from the Music Department of Takamatsu Daiichi High School, she earned her Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from Aichi University of the Arts. In 2018, she moved to Europe to further her studies, receiving a diploma from the Fondazione Accademia Internazionale di Imola incontri col maestro (Italy) in 2022 and completing her Master’s degree in Piano Performance at the Berlin University of the Arts in 2025.
She has received numerous awards, including:
• 1st Prize and Special Excellence Award, Imola International Piano Audition(Japan)
• 1st Prize, Palmanova International Piano Competition (Italy)
• 1st Prize (Piano Category) and 2nd Prize (Overall), Padova International Competition (Italy)
• 2nd Prize (highest award), Osaka International Music Competition (Japan)
• Excellent New Artist Award, Tokyo International Association of Arts(Japan)
Her concert appearances include performances with the Krakow Philharmonic Orchestra, the Okayama Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Prima Vista String Quartet. She made her recital debut at Sunport Hall(Japan).
In addition to her solo activities, she is actively engaged in Lied and chamber music. She has performed in Liederabends and cultural exchange concerts between Germany and Japan. As part of the Schumann Complete Works Recording Project at the Imola Academy, she recorded Piano Sonata No. 3 in F minor, Op. 14, which was released on CD.
Her principal teachers include Kumi Uchimoto, Stefano Fiuzzi, Enrico Pace, Björn Lehmann, and Norie Takahashi. She studied Lied accompaniment with Eric Schneider and served as assistant to opera singer Prof. Julie Kaufmann. She has also taught as an adjunct instructor at a music school in Berlin.
She is currently based in Seattle, Washington, USA.
